MAN FINANCIAL COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF REFCO CANADA Man Financial, the futures and options brokerage division of Man Group plc, today announced that it has unconditionally completed a transaction to acquire the share capital of Refco Canada Co., and that the company's name has been changed to Man Financial Canada Co. This transaction follows Man Group plc's successful bid to acquire most of the regulated business of Refco, which was announced in November 2005. Man Group plc is a UK listed company and a constituent of the FTSE-100 index, with a market capitalization of in excess of US$11 billion (CDN $12.6 billion). Pierre Gloutney, formerly Chairman and CEO of Refco Canada, will serve as Chairman of Man Financial Canada and will continue to lead the management team he built under the Refco group. Kevin Davis, CEO of Man Financial globally, commented; "We are delighted to have secured ownership of the former Refco Canada Co, which now becomes a fully-integrated part of the global business of Man Financial.
