Investors are growing increasingly cautious ahead of US PCE inflation data due later today and payrolls report scheduled on Friday, as well as the upcoming US presidential election. In key trading partner China, better-than-expected manufacturing data offered a glimmer of hope for Beijing. On the domestic front, New Zealand's business confidence rose further in October, with forward-looking activity indicators improving as rate cuts fueled optimism. Among large-cap stocks, significant declines were seen from Infratil (-2.3%), Ebos Group (-1.35%), Contact Energy (-1.3%), and Spark NZ (-3%).
