一向认为东方民歌软绵绵，不料索菲娅·格林带给我们的冲击是如此强烈，方知心灵享受不必全是温吞鸡汤，薄荷加冰或者极地伏特加也是不错的选择。东西方之间是有鸿沟的，至少在音乐上、在女人的演绎上。但索菲娅的美声跨越了鸿沟。她那水晶般透明而纯净的声音，高亢而耐听地把中国最传统最阴柔的靡靡之音化作了划破长天的剑器之鸣。想想看，豪唱大江东去的壮美竟然来自于《甜蜜蜜》、《阿里山的姑娘》、《女人花》……这样的歌曲中，真是叹为观止。第一位签约内地的西方歌手，第一次出唱片选取了最为人熟知的曲目，但却是以最另类的手法演绎，令人在偶然的聆听中驻足、神往并最终收藏为快。值得称许的是英文歌词译得非常好，韵律简洁，由索菲娅清朗的唱腔中流出，字字可辨，对照自己熟悉的中文原词，亦一乐也
