On Thursday, Trump unveiled new duties set to take effect on October 1, including a 100% tariff on branded pharmaceuticals and a 25% tariff on heavy-duty trucks. Additional levies include a 50% tariff on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, and a 30% tariff on upholstered furniture. It remains unclear whether these tariffs would be added on top of existing national duties or if countries with trade agreements — such as the EU — would be granted exemptions. Financial stocks were among the standout performers, with BNP Paribas and Crédit Agricole each rising 1.6%, while AXA and Société Générale both gained 1.2%.
