On the corporate front, Interpump shares surged 8.2% after the group reported optimistic corporate results for the quarter, while Buzzi gained 5.2% and Prysmian rose 4.7%. Meanwhile, Leonardo fell 6.1% after Rheinmetall, its joint venture partner in tank production, reported second-quarter sales and profits below expectations.

On the downside, STMicroelectronics fell nearly 2% after US President Trump announced a 100% tariff on imported semiconductors and chips, excluding companies that manufacture within the US.
