South Korea’s current account surplus rose to $13.47 billion in September 2025, the highest in three months, driven by strong semiconductor and automobile exports along with higher dividend income. It also marked the largest surplus on record for September, extending nearly three years of consecutive gains. The goods account posted a $14.24 billion surplus as exports climbed 9.6% to $67.27 billion and imports grew 4.5% to $53.02 billion from a year earlier. Meanwhile, the services account showed a $3.32 billion deficit due to shortfalls in travel and other business services. The primary income account registered a $2.96 billion surplus on higher equity income, while the secondary income account logged a $0.42 billion deficit.
