The Bank of Thailand noted that the decline in consumer prices was largely attributable to supply-side factors, with notable softness observed in both oil prices and prices for a broad range of goods, which together served as the main drivers of the overall reduction. Meanwhile, core consumer prices, which exclude volatile items such as food and energy, continued to show a positive, albeit soft, increase of 0.61% on an annual basis. This was slightly below market expectations of 0.64% and down from the 0.65% increase in September, marking the lowest pace of core inflation since July last year.

Thailand's foreign tourist arrivals from January 1 to November 2 fell 7.22% from the same period a year earlier, the Tourism Ministry said on Tuesday. During this period, there were 26.89 million foreign visitors, with Malaysia being the largest source market at 3.88 million visitors, followed by China with 3.8 million. Last week, the Finance Ministry cut its forecast for foreign tourist arrivals this year to 33.5 million from the previous estimate of 34.5 million. Thailand saw a record of nearly 40 million visitors in 2019, before the pandemic. However, last October, the Finance Ministry’s Fiscal Policy Office revised the country’s GDP growth forecast higher to 2.4% for this year, up from the previous forecast of 2.2%, following a series of government stimulus measures and better-than-expected exports. Exports, a key driver of Thai growth, are now projected to rise 10% this year, up from an earlier forecast of 5.5%. Last year, the economy grew 2.5%, lagging behind its regional peers.

The S&P Global Thailand Manufacturing PMI jumped to 56.6 in October 2025, from 54.6 in the previous month. It marked the sixth consecutive month of expansion and the highest level since May 2023, driven by the fastest increase in new orders in two and a half years, supported by effective business development efforts and stronger client demand. In response, output growth accelerated for the seventh straight month, while manufacturers expanded their workforce for the second consecutive month to manage rising workloads. On the cost front, input prices stabilized following three months of decline. Consequently, selling prices remained largely unchanged at the start of the final quarter. Finally, business sentiment strengthened markedly to its highest level in two and a half years, as Thai manufacturers grew increasingly optimistic about expansion plans and improving economic conditions expected to support stronger sales in the year ahead.

Foreign tourist arrivals are expected to reach 33.5 million this year, down from a forecast of 34.5 million made in July. However, gross domestic product growth is expected to slow to 2.0% next year, with exports forecast to dip 1.5%. Meanwhile, tourist arrivals are projected to rebound to 35.5 million in 2026, though still below the pre-pandemic record of nearly 40 million visitors in 2019. Last year, Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy grew 2.5%, lagging its regional peers.
