Private consumption in Thailand declined by 0.2% month-over-month in July 2025, slightly easing from a 0.3% contraction in the previous month. Spending rose on durable goods, particularly passenger cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles. At the same time, consumption increased in semi-durable goods, driven by higher demand for textiles and apparel. On the other hand, consumption of non-durable goods and services fell, reflecting weaker tourism-related receipts from both domestic and international visitors. Meanwhile, consumer confidence remained subdued due to ongoing political uncertainty, global trade tensions, the sluggish pace of economic recovery, and continued tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border.
