The Davivienda Colombia Manufacturing PMI rose to 51.4 in April 2025 from 49.9 in March, reflecting the first expansion in Colombian factory activity since January. New orders and manufacturing expanded moderately amid limited demand, with a sharper recovery was prevented by inflation concerns and global trade. Purchasing levels increased slightly, but job creation was marginal as firms did not replace departing staff. On the price front, overall cost burdens continued to rise amid unfavorable exchange rates and material shortages, even though the pace of increase slowed. Still, selling price inflation accelerated to a two-year high, although it remained below its 14-year historical average. Looking ahead, companies remained confident of an increase in production, due to expectations of economic improvement, greater demand and new product launches, even with optimism at its lowest level in seven months.
