Brazil added 166,621 formal jobs in June 2025, up 8.77% from May but down 19.2% year-on-year, marking the second-lowest June result in the historical series—only higher than June 2020. All five major economic sectors posted gains, led by services (+77,057), trade (+32,938), and agriculture (+25,833), followed by industry (+20,105) and construction (+10,665). Positive job balances were seen in 26 of the 27 states, with São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro leading. In the first half of 2025, Brazil created 1.22 million formal jobs, the strongest H1 result since 2024. The average real wage in June rose to R$2,278.37, up 1.09% from May and 1.28% from a year earlier.
