Namibia's annual inflation rate rose to 3.5% in September 2025, from a seven-month low of 3.2% in the prior month. The increase was mainly driven by a rebound in transport costs (1.3% vs -1.0% in August), along with higher prices for housing and utilities (3.6% vs 3.4%), clothing and footwear (1.9% vs 1.5%), recreation and culture (4.0% vs 3.8%), and hotels, cafés and restaurants (4.2% vs 3.8%). Meanwhile, inflation eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.9% vs 5.2%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.9% vs 5.5%), furnishings and household equipment (1.6% vs 2.0%), miscellaneous goods and services (3.0% vs 3.5%), and health (3.1% vs 3.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged for the second consecutive month.
