Retail sales in Cyprus rose by 8.7% year-on-year in July 2025 from 8.2% in the previous month. Sales accelerated for food, beverages, and tobacco in non-specialized stores (8.4% vs 6.9% in June), food, beverages, and tobacco in specialized stores (19.8% vs 13.4%), clothing and footwear (15.7% vs 9.5%), flowers, plants, watches, jewelry, optical goods, second-hand goods (7.8% vs 7.5%) and retail sales not in stores (4.9% vs 4.1%). In contrast, sales moderated for other household equipment (6.6% vs 9.6%), automotive fuel (3.4% vs 8.0%), pharmaceuticals, orthopedic goods, and cosmetics (5.1% vs 6.2%), and information and communication equipment (12.9% vs 18.8%). On a year-to-date basis, retail sales advanced by 7.2%.
