North Macedonia’s annual inflation rate rose to 4.5% in October 2025, the highest in three months, from 4.0% in September. The main upward pressure came from prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.0% vs 4.3% in September), housing and utilities (1.8% vs 1.7%), recreation and culture (7.8% vs 7.0%), and restaurants and hotels (5.2% vs 3.4%). Conversely, price growth slowed for alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics (6.7% vs 9.0%), clothing and footwear (2.8% vs 3.0%), furniture, household equipment and maintenance (4.7% vs 5.0%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.0% vs 3.3%). At the same time, transport costs fell by 1.4%, reversing a 5.7% increase in September. On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.2% in October, the same pace as in the previous month.
