The annual inflation rate in Montenegro rose to 4.2% in June 2025 from 3.9% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since May 2024, as prices increased faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (5.0% vs 4.2% in May), housing, water, electricity, gas & other fuels (6.2% vs 6.1%), and recreation & culture (7.3% vs 7.0%). In addition, costs fell at a softer pace for transport (-1.4% vs -3.2%). Meanwhile, prices moderated for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.8% vs 6.1%), furnishings, household equipment & equipment & routine household maintenance (4.8% vs 5.8%), health (13.2% vs 13.5%), communication (1.6% vs 1.7%), and restaurants & hotels (9.0% vs 10.1%), while it continued to drop for clothing & footwear (-3.5% vs -1.8%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices eased to 0.4% in June from 0.6% in the preceding month.
