Retail sales in Estonia edged up by 0.7% year-on-year in July 2025, easing from a 5% jump in the previous month. This marked the eighth consecutive month of growth in retail activity, albeit at a slower pace, as sales moderated for automotive fuel in specialised stores (9.7% vs 12.2% in June), second-hand goods in stores, retail sales in kiosks and markets, other retail sales not in stors, kiosks and markets (6.4% vs 13.2%), and maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (3.3% vs 9.7%). Additionally, trade declined further for other retail sale in non-specialised stores (-7.6% vs -2.2%) and non-specialised stores with food, tobacco, or beverages predominating (-4.6% vs -3.6%). Conversely, sales increased faster for computers, peripheral units, software, and telecommunications equipment (27.8% vs 21.8%). On a monthly basis, retail activity fell by 0.5% in July, following a 0.1% fall in the preceding period.
